About Charlotte Riggle
Orthodox Christian Author for Adults and Children
You might know Charlotte Riggle as the award-winning author of the picture books, Catherine’s Pascha and its companion, The Saint Nicholas Day Snow. She is also the author of That God’s Works Might Be Revealed, a collection of short stories exploring holiness, sickness, and disability, and her chapter, “Courageous Hospitality,” appears in the anthology, The Grace of Being There: Single Mother Saints in Our Lives. Her Orthodox Christian faith, her expertise as an accessibility professional and disability inclusion advocate, and her lived experience as an autistic person and the mother of autistic children (now adults!) inform her ongoing writing about sanctity and hospitality for people of all abilities. Her favorite word is philoxenia, which is often translated as hospitality, but more accurately describes the virtue of radical welcome and acceptance of people who are not like you. She lives with her family in the Pacific Northwest, with a view of a nearby volcano.
