My new book, The Saint Nicholas Day Snow, is now available. And I’ll be doing read-alouds for children and their parents and friends at local events and bookstores.
The Neverending Bookshop, Bothell
This Saturday, November 18, at 1 o’clock, I’ll be at The Neverending Bookshop, a new and used bookstore in the heart of downtown Bothell, Washington. I’ll be reading and signing both The Saint Nicholas Day Snow and my first book, Catherine’s Pascha. The Neverending Bookshop is best known for fantasy and science fiction. But Annie Carl, the owner, is also interested in books that include characters with disabilities. Read her essay, Reading While Disabled. Then put the reading on your calendar!
A Good Book, Sumner
Saturday, November 25, is Small Business Saturday, the day to go to the little stores, the indies, the shops owned by people you know. It’s a great day to go to your favorite indie bookstore. Mine is A Good Book in downtown Sumner, Washington. It’s a fabulous little store. Of course you can buy used and new books there. And T-shirts. And you can attend all sorts of events. Coloring nights. Campfire book talks. Salons. Readings. And, speaking of readings, I’ll be there on November 25 at 1:45, reading and signing The Saint Nicholas Day Snow. You’ll find me upstairs in the book loft.
Job Carr Cabin Museum, Tacoma
I’ll be at the Job Carr Cabin Museum in Tacoma, Washington, on December 2, when Santa Visits Old Town. Santa arrives at 1 o’clock, and he’ll be there until 3:30. Children can visit him by the fireplace in the cozy cabin. While they’re waiting their turn, there will be a lot to keep them busy and entertained. Local choirs will be performing holiday music. There will be crafts for the kids to do, and cookies and hot chocolate. And I will be reading The Saint Nicholas Day Snow at 2:05 and 2:45. It’s a free event – even the photos with Santa are free! You can bring a bag of non-perishable foods to fill a collection box for St. Leo’s Food Connection.
